These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME] ("we", "us") covering your use of the Trace CV app and tracecv.co.uk. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Trace CV.
Who can use Trace CV
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account.
Your content stays yours
Everything you put into Trace CV - your photos, documents, certificates and career history - remains yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store it, display it back to you, and produce the CV, portfolio and shared links you ask us to produce. We do not claim ownership, and we do not use your content to advertise or to train machine learning models.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or photographs of a site or person where you do not have permission to take or share them.
Shared links
When you share a CV, portfolio or gallery, Trace CV produces a link that anyone holding it can open without signing in. That is deliberate - it is how you send your record to an employer. It also means you should treat the link like a document you have emailed. You are responsible for who you send it to.
Cost
Trace CV is free to use. Every feature is included on every account. There is nothing to buy inside the app, no subscription, and no payment details are ever collected from you.
We may introduce paid plans in future. If we ever do, we will tell you clearly and in advance, and no charge will be made without you actively choosing a paid plan first. Nothing you already have will be taken away from you without notice.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete my account in the app. This erases your data as described in our Privacy Policy, and it cannot be undone.
Availability
We work to keep Trace CV running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may occasionally suspend it for maintenance. Trace CV is a record-keeping tool: it is your responsibility to keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, particularly original certificates.
Suspending accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used unlawfully, or is used to upload content that infringes someone else's rights. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or opportunity, or for loss of data where you have not kept your own copies. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
If you use Trace CV as a consumer, you keep all of your statutory rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Trace CV after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
