Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Trace CV account and everything in it at any time.

In the app - immediate

This is the fastest route, and it takes effect straight away.

1. Open Trace CV and go to Profile.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
3. Type DELETE and enter your password to confirm.

Without the app - by request

If you have uninstalled Trace CV or can no longer sign in, email hello@tracecv.co.uk from the address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We may ask you a question or two to confirm the account is yours before we act - that protects you from someone else deleting your record.

We will complete the deletion within 30 days, and normally much sooner.

What gets deleted

Everything associated with your account is erased permanently:

• Your name, email address and login details
• Your profile, including any personal, contact and next-of-kin details
• Your CV, personal statement and questionnaire answers
• Certificates, documents and any files you uploaded
• Work photos and videos, and their locations
• Employment history, education and qualifications
• Calendar entries and reminders

What we may keep, and for how long

We keep nothing about you after deletion, other than records we are legally required to retain (for example, basic transaction records for tax purposes, where any payment has been made). Anything of that kind is kept only for the statutory period and is never used for anything else.

Backups are rotated on a fixed schedule, so a copy of your data may persist in an encrypted backup for a short period after deletion before it is overwritten.
